Things I wear too much – summer edition.

In England its incredibly hard to guess what the weathers going to be. Most people expect it to snow around December, and are surprised to see it snow in February. But then by April/May we could all be wearing shorts and sunbathing in out gardens because its too hot.

Today I have my summer edition of things I wear too much. I thought it would be appropriate for me to post this today, as I’m actually flying home from Rome. Lets get started.

1 – Denim shorts, specifically from American Eagle. They are my summer favourite as they can be dressed up or dressed down and are so easy to throw on.

2 – White Converse. I literally can’t explain this one. They just work. They go with every outfit, they’re comfy, they can be worn casually or smartly. The only downside is to how dirty they can get. I tend to buy a new pair of converse every summer… but they are so good for every occasion!!

3 – Simple crop tops, my favourites are Boohoo’s slash neck ones, cheap and cheerful. So perfect for throwing on to walk to the pool.

4 – My Nike grey hoodie. This ones strange, why am I wearing a hoodie in summer? Well this one isn’t a heavy hoodie, it’s light and airy. When on holiday I use this to put on when at lunch or breakfast, as sometimes the air con can get a little too cold. And I hate being cold.

5 – My Ray Bans. They literally follow me everywhere (other than the sea) because I spent so much money on them and I love them so much. I mean, they’re sun glasses, they do the job, but they fit perfectly, I just love them.

6 – My white River Island back pack. It’s big enough to fit the essentials for the beach aka sun cream, earphones and money but it’s not so big that it’s huge. It’s also great for taking round cities or on long walks because it’s not heavy. I’ve used it every day this holiday.

One Love Manchester

Hi all,

If you follow my social media, you’ll know that a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to go to Ariana Grande’s benefit concert – One Love Manchester.

The concert was absolutely magical, and although people around me would have hated my singing, I enjoyed every moment of it.

Now I’m not going to sit here and write all about the artists and what songs they performed because you probably know all of that information.

I’ve been a fan of Ariana for years, but never so much of a fan to actually try to get tickets to a show. But this one was different. When I heard what had happened on May 22nd, my heart ached. Those people had started to target children… that could have been me, or my friends, or anyone.

As a 23 year old woman, it must have hit Ariana hard, to know that they were all there to see her, and their nights came to a terrible ending. My heart went out to not only those involved, and their friends and families, but to Ariana and her team, who must have been devastated that it had happened after all the time and effort they had put in to make this tour amazing.

I still can not believe the courage she must have had to put One Love Manchester together so quickly. And the courage of all the other musicians who joined her that evening, in Manchester again, to show their support and unity. I am thankful that the Manchester Metropolitan Police allowed the event to go ahead, and Michael Carrick, who so kindly moved his football match so that it made the police’s job a little easier.

Ariana must have some beautiful connections in the music industry to get the artists she did to perform in Manchester, but the one I want to talk about is her friendship with Miley Cyrus (Another childhood idol of mine). Yes, it was Ariana’s concert, but Miley had such an amazing stage presence, you couldn’t help but smile. Her involvement in the Happy Hippy Association made her so prepared for this, and I hope Ariana is grateful for Miley as a friend, for she made us in the audience happy and relaxed, and all come together.

Some people were there for closure, from the original concert; some people were there to show their support for the victims and Manchester; others to see some of their favourite musicians play; some sat at home watching the event live on BBC, or whatever country they were in. It doesn’t matter what category you fall under, it matters that you were there, doing your bit. Together we were united, showing our strength. Even more so, after the events in London merely hours before the benefit concert was due to start.

I will always remember that weekend, my journey up to Manchester, the concert, and the friends I made, all there for the exact same reason. And I’m so glad I got to spend it with my best friend.

Please enjoy some photo’s I have of the concert. There aren’t many because I took mainly videos.

Healthy life choices, starting now

If you knew me when I was younger, you’ll know that I am definitely a chocolate person. I used to eat about 4 chocolate bars a day, and it was so bad for me… Now that summer is coming, I have decided to try to become healthier, so I can be happier within myself and get fit and into a less sugary routine. Here are the things I have done, or am trying to do to become a healthier me.

1 – I joined my local gym. I’m not going to suddenly become a gym freak, but I am trying to go once or twice a week to rebuild my stamina. Since starting my new job, I rarely exercise, and I have recently started to notice how that is affecting me. My new gym has a studio and a pool so I can dance or swim if I’m really not feeling the treadmill. This is also going to help me get a more toned body, so that I can look a bit better for my holidays! HAHA!

2 – I have cut some sugary foods out of my diet. I have slowly stopped eating chocolate and sweets regularly and have replaced them with more beneficial foods such as fruit or yogurt. Although I do still allow myself the occasional chocolate bar, because I find myself wanting it even more if I remove it completely. I have also taken carbs out of my diet unless I know I will burn all of the extra calories off.

3 – Walking my dog, Jaz. This is a good one for me because we have so much fun running around the fields that I actually forget that it is classed as exercise! It takes an hour out of my day, which is good because if I wasn’t walking Jaz, I’d probably be eating! Walking is also a great way to clear your mind too.

4 – Be aware that the more alcohol I drink, the more calories my body will store. I never really noticed this one until a few weeks ago, but it is so true! I have to work extra hard on my body during the days surrounding my nights out because of all the extra calories. But its certainly worth it.

It is a slow journey, but I know that with the determination, I will become a more healthier and fitter person, and I am glad I will be able to share my journey with you.

My current skincare routine – summer 2017

Hi everyone! I thought as I were going on holiday soon, I should tell you all about my skincare routine in summer.

In general, I eat healthier in summer than I do winter, so I find myself having less spots and blemishes, but I still try to do a face mask at least once a week. My favourites are these.

When waking up in the morning, I just wash my face with warm water and a fluffy flannel. Make sure it isn’t too old and scratchy, as this will cause irritation on your face. Ill then just use my daily moisturiser. I currently use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil-free Moisturiser.

I also make sure that I take all of my makeup off at the end of the day. To do this, I use my Garnier Cleanser on two cotton pads to take the majority off, then I use a third pad to remove the last bit.

Then I try to use a face wash, but while I leave this on for a few minutes, I will brush my teeth and floss, and then remove the face wash with water.

I then put a moisturiser on if this isn’t the very end of my day. If it is, I will use a night moisturiser.

At the very end of my day, I use a simple face wipe to clear my skin of my old moisturiser and put on a night moisturiser and lip balm. Then I go to sleep ready to start again the next day.

I hope you found this useful!

My new car – Audi A1 Sportback S Line

Hello everyone! As you’ll know, a couple of weeks ago, I got my new car. This post is just going to be a little review of how I’m finding it so far.

The car I got is an Audi A1 1.6l Sportback S Line.

Firstly, it’s a lot faster than my old KA. It’s a 1.6l engine, so it’s going to gain speed a lot quicker than my KA. And it does… it was strange at first, but I’m used to it now, and I love it.

It’s also a few years newer than my ka, so it has a few more toys inside. I can connect my phone via bluetooth, something I was never able to do in my KA. It also has automatic rain sensor wipers and the ability to be a sat nav.

Another thing I have had to get used to is the amount of doors. This is a 5 door, and therefore you can’t move the front seats, and I keep trying to! Its so strange! It also locks itself once you drive more than 10mph and this is a weird concept to me. The newer Audi’s also have a start/stop system, and this worried me a lot at first, I used to think it wouldn’t start again and I’d stall the car, but I’m pretty used to it now.

I still haven’t used all of the electronics inside but they all seem pretty useful. It also has reversing sensors, but this was something I had on my KA and loved, hence why I bought a new car with them.

Ive had this car for about a month now, and I absolutely love it. It is so much smoother to drive, and it honestly feels so much safer, but I guess thats expected from an Audi.
All in all, I am so happy that I purchased it, and I’m sure I’ll love it for a while.

I swear Christmas was yesterday?

Adults say that the older you get, the quicker the time passes. But I disagree. Time flies by the minute you leave school/education. I just don’t get how its already the end of April.

There is so many things that I want to say in this blog post, so many thoughts, times to look back on, things to look forward to. As a person, I like to reminisce, reflect and think about things that made me happy, or sad, or angry. And I look forward to the future to make new memories.

It feels like my 18th birthday party was last week. But it was actually 8 months ago. What?! You’re probably wondering why I’ve mentioned my 18th birthday even though the title of this post is about Christmas… Here’s why.  It was my 18th birthday that I last saw a lot of my closest friends from school, and that was a big turning point in our lives.

Moving forwards a few months to 2017. I messed up big time at the start of the year, so much so that I lost someone I cared about so much. When it happened, I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad really… the thing I did made me happy in the moment, but I didn’t know if it would be that way in the long run… I allowed someone to walk all over me, for weeks and weeks and weeks, and although I could see I was being used, I was happy so I didn’t mind.

Looking back on it, sometimes I wish I hadn’t have done it, because I wrecked a friendship, and was a bitch about it. Something I said I’d never do… but on the other hand, losing that friend made me rekindle other friendships with people I hadn’t really spoken to since they’d left for uni. And I got closer to a few other people too, which was nice. It turns out that it’s quite easy to gain new friends, as long as you seem approachable or are with other people who know another variety of people.

Since I’ve been going out more and hanging around some of my old friends, I’ve spoken to more people and become more confident in starting a conversation too… that’s probably just because of the alcohol, but whatever.

I’ve also spent more time outside too. As you’ll know, one of my New Years resolutions was to walk Jaz at least once a week. Honestly, that hasn’t happened, but I do try my hardest. I’ve found that walking around really gives me time to think about what’s been happening recently, it clears my head too. And it’s great exercise!! Haha!

All in all, I’m pretty happy with where my life is right now. I have some amazing people, both friends and family in my life, who I know are going to be there for me if I ever need it, I’m about to get my second car (a post about that is coming soon) and my job is literally the best thing I decided to do.

I’ve got so many good things planned for the rest of 2017, and I can’t wait for you to hear all about them! I get my new car this weekend, I go to Italy to see one of my friends from NYFA and I’m going to Marbella, Spain with one of my old/new friends too. I’m so greatful for everything I have, and I hope you are too.

Thanks for reading.
